Sentry is good software and this page is not going to pretend otherwise. What Bugtail offers is the same category of tool, run by a European company, priced on a published list, with the connectors still readable.
Migrating is a DSN, not a project
Bugtail accepts the Sentry envelope protocol on the endpoint your SDK already posts to. Change the DSN in your environment and deploy. Every official SDK works unchanged: Laravel, JavaScript, Python, Go, Ruby, PHP, Node, the mobile ones.
Run both for a week if you want to. Two DSNs, two environments, same code; compare what arrives in each, then turn one off. A migration you can reverse in one line is a migration nobody has to schedule.

What Sentry does that we do not
Session replay, profiling, cron monitoring, uptime checks and a very large integration catalogue. Sentry is a much bigger product with a much bigger team, and if you depend on any of those, the honest answer is to stay.
Saying so is not modesty. A comparison page that claims parity is a page that produces a churned customer in month three, and a churned customer costs more than the one we did not take.

Questions people actually ask
Can I import my history from Sentry?
Not automatically, and we would rather say that than sell you a script that half works. Run both in parallel for a week, then switch; your open issues are usually a short list you can recreate by hand.
Is this a fork of Sentry?
No. It reads their envelope protocol, which is documented, and nothing else is shared. The design is different in the one place that matters: no span, no metric reading and no stack trace is ever a database row here.
